Three Tips to Reclaim Your House this Fall

25 Aug 2017, by Agricola Redesign Staff in Fun Fridays

It’s back to school time! That means you can reclaim your house from the kids now that they can’t run in and out, spew their toys around the house, and raid the kitchen of all the food… well, maybe they’ll still do that, but just a little less often! 🙂

Check out these tips to help you reclaim your house as you’re “saved by the bell”:

1. Organize summer supplies: As summer comes to an end, that means you’ll be saying “so long” to hanging by the pool, venturing out to the waterpark, and laying in the sun. Toss all of the half-empty suntan lotions that will be expired by next summer, put away your beach towels, and organize your summer supplies. You can get a plastic tote to store your summer supplies, or you can opt for a cute basket to put your items in if they’ll be stored in a more visible spot. Either way, you’ll thank yourself next summer when you know just where to go to find all the things you need for the season.

2. Create a family command center: Keep your family on the same page this school year and cut back on chaos by creating a family command center on the wall of your laundry or mud room. Hang up (or create) a calendar where you can list school activities, sporting events, and practices so everyone know where they need to be and when they need to be there. Keep paper messes to a minimum by hanging file folders on the wall so the kids can put their important forms and other items in there. You can also keep things fun by hanging a magnet board for artwork, awards, certificates, etc. so everyone can see it as they walk in the house!

3. Sign up for a redesign class: With the kids back in school, that means you’ll have a lot more free time on your hands! That’s the perfect time to consider taking a redesign class for yourself with Agricola Redesign! Our redesign and home staging classes aren’t just for those who want a career in design, they’re perfect for teaching you what you need to know about decorating your own home!
