The holiday season will be here before you know it and your guest bedroom will be full of loved ones for the weeks to come. But don’t let the holiday season arrive before you’re able to perfectly prepare your guest bedroom to welcome in all who will be visiting.

It doesn’t have to be difficult, either. Here are a few easy tips to prepare your guest room for visitors to feel like they found a new “home away from home”:

Fresh flowers: Who doesn’t love the look and smell of a fresh bouquet of flowers? Plus, you have to admit… any time you’ve ever received flowers, it’s made you feel extra special. If you have a guest suite, put flowers in both the bedroom and the bathroom. Stick with the season, though, and opt for what you can easily find at your local nursery or flower shop.

Don’t forget comfort: We all prefer different pillows, so make sure you have an assortment available for those staying in your guest room. Belly sleepers will want flat pillows and back sleepers will likely prefer something fluffy. Cover all your bases by setting a variety out on the bed. This is also a sure way to guarantee that you’re guests will sleep like a baby when they stay – and a good way to make them want to come back another time! Don’t forget to provide a variety of blankets as well. Whether guests prefer fleece, down comforters, or a light quilt, you want them to sleep comfortably.

Leave a gift: Whether it’s a card or a small gift, it’s a thoughtful tough that your guests will forever remember. Some people prefer the more sentimental card on the nightstand to tell our guests just how much they mean to you. Others like to leave gifts they know their guests will love. We love giving a Cincinnati-themed Chart Bracelet (from A Village Gift Shop, of course) as a guest gift so they leave with a little piece of where we call home.
