A Letter From Diane: What I Learned at Market

21 Jul 2017, by Agricola Redesign Staff in Home Decor, Make Me Want To Shop Monday

Every January and July, we pack our bags and head off to market. I feel very strongly that any good designer will attend the market either in Atlanta, High Point, or Las Vegas to gain the following they need to successfully run their business.

Every market will showcase what is up and coming in design, decor, and so much more. And, if you’re wondering, the trendy Farmhouse Chic style is still VERY much as popular as it was last year.

Personally, I am a huge fan of Farmhouse Chic. So, while I’m at market, I like to visit one of my favorite showrooms (Park Hill – pictured!) to find items for my clients and, of course, A Village Gift Shop.

At the major markets across the country, you’ll find that there are tons of opportunities for education, including the annual DecoZone Conference hosted by The-DSA at Atlanta’s AmericasMart, where I am a Master Trainer.

Sometimes, the educators are fun, handsome, and knowledgeable. Like Nate Berkus, who will be a speaker at this July’s market! So excited!

I love having the ability to visit and shop at market and bring back goodies for A Village Gift Shop and my clients! There are so many unique, one-of-a-kind pieces I get to bring back that clients and customers can’t find at other shops or their neighbors’ homes.

Another one of my favorite parts of heading to market is the chance to speak with other design professionals about their businesses and clients. I feel it helps me to become a better designer!

I hope to see you soon at A Village Gift Shop at 3 Village Square in Glendale, where you can find our latest market finds! I’d also love to sit down with you for a home consultation to share more about another amazing market trip and how I can help you find what you need to help you fall in love with your home again!
